I have been so busy working since I got back from DC I nearly forgot to post
video from the excellent HOT CHIP show last Friday at Terminal 5!
Terminal 5 is the newest large concert venue on the block, bringing something new to the west side on 56th St. btw 11th and 12th avenue far away from Bowery Ballroom and Irving Plaza which are all part of the same parent company. Terminal 5 is going to get a lot of cool, underground who are popular enough to have a big crowd here in NYC but not completely mainstream like… Hot Chip! The venue also lends it self well to electronic / dance oriented live music because Terminal 5 was once one of NYC’s famous mega clubs so it has the dance floor and layout made for dancing!
For those of you who are old like me, it used to be a nightclub called EXIT or briefly IKON
when I worked there You may remember the legendary “Boooo yourself” with Danny Tenaglia in 2004?
Ok here’s a short video followed by my full review of this new concert venue which has a lot of potential Hot Chip Live : One Pure Thought (Opening song!)

Hey Guys & Gals, Do you wish you had purchased a copy of SPANK! Art Mag Issue #9 featuring JoJo Americo, Justin Bond, Aaron Corbett, Brian Kenny, Vintage 12″ Artwork, Pictures, Grr, Woof, and artwork by yours truely on the cover?
Well… You are too late. It’s already sold out… (That was fast)… But don’t fret - you can download a copy here! Be sure to check out the SPANK! Art Mag website and visit the rock em sock em DJs Will and SeanB while you are at it.
This weekend NYC is hosting it’s own brand new music festival that is bringing in the world’s top electronic artists and DJs from around the globe who rarely come to NYC including Richie Hawtin, MAGDA, Matthew Dear / AUDION, M.A.N.D.Y. and Tiefschwarz whom I had the pleasure of meeting at Creamfields Buenos Aires 2007.
MiniTek is an “electronic music and digital creativity festival” simiar to MUTEK… But smaller
I’m very excited that this event is taking place in NYC. 2008 is the perfect time for launching such a festival as New Yorkers have been really starving for music that had slipped through the cracks as nightlife faded out of the spotlight and concerts / live music venues started becoming larger and more influential.
So don’t miss this event - The music is going to be sick, the venues are fantastic, and it’s all about the music
I can hardly contain my excitement as I write this…
Last Night Was Uh-Maze-Ing! The Spank! Party was
